The Journal In the community, there tends to be a lean towards the Leuchtturm1917 journal. This journal has many wonderful features that make it a great choice. Below is a list of reason that I believe this journal is the best choice for bullet journal work. Please note, just because this is my choice does not mean that other journals that people use are invalid. This is my preference and I am sharing that with you, but I believe anyone can use whatever journal they are interested in. What is most important is that it works for you!
These journals are available online and at one local store near me. Online, you can get them on their main store (here) or you can get them by searching on Amazon.com. On Amazon, they tend to be around $15 - $25 (not including shipping) and price tends to vary depending on the color. At the local store (Craft Warehouse) they are $20 and occasionally go on sale for about $15. I purchased my first one on Amazon and my others I have gotten at the store. The Pens Pens that you choose to use are, of course, up to you. I have several that I am a fan of for different reasons. I fell in love with the Staedtler Triplus Pens. They have a nice fine line to them and they do not ghost (bleed through the paper) to terribly. I bought these pens in a set of 36 from Amazon, but you can get them on other sites in different sets with fewer colors. Similar to those pens are the Stabilo Fineliner Pens. They write just as lovely and the colors are just as nice. These pens are sold in sets as well and they also tend to be sold individually at craft stores (at least at Craft Warehouse) so if you run out of a color you can go to the store and pick one up and not have to buy an entirely new set. Maped Graph Pens are a recent find for me that I am glad that I have found. They are great for coloring and do not ghost too bad. So far the only drawback to them that I am seeing is that they sometimes catch when they are writing on paper and thus sometimes they will flick ink and leave little dots places. The other pen set that I am a big fan of are the Zebra Sarasa Gel Pens. They are extremely finelined at a 0.3 and come in so many colors. I bought them as individual pens at a local Japanese book and stationery store. I use the black ones the most, so I bought two of them and I also bought refills online. That is a big help.
